A love of Japanese performance, a build bay, and a refusal to do anything halfway. Houston gave it a scene; Mayday Garage gave it a home.
01 — Roots
Forged in Mayday Garage.
Mayday Garage helped pioneer Houston’s car-meet culture with some of the wildest JDM builds around — the kind that actually got driven hard, not just rolled out for photos. Affinis was right in the middle of it.
That collective energy set the tone for everything that followed: build real cars, carry real parts, and never talk down to the people who care as much as you do.
02 — The founder
Built by a technician, for enthusiasts.
Affinis Motor Sports was founded by John Markadakis. After six years as a technician in the performance automotive industry — working hands-on with top manufacturers — he saw firsthand the impact that genuinely great customer service had on the buying experience, and set out to provide the same: a trustworthy resource for high-quality, original, reputable parts.
Affinis only distributed products that exceeded expectations on build quality, performance, and manufacturer support — a way to help the community see the value in supporting genuine companies whose people have dedicated their lives to leaving a legacy.
03 — The magazine years
Builds that earned their pages.
The R34-sourced straight-six swap into a Nissan 240SX became the build that defined the shop — a serious piece of engineering that Super Street wrote up as a straight-six sensation.
A USA-built Silvia S14 followed, covered by TimeAttackR — proof the shop’s taste and execution translated across the whole S-chassis lineup. The work landed Affinis in the conversation around the greatest Nissan S-chassis builds.
Then came the Attack — Maximum Challenge time-attack series, with Affinis as a 2016–2017 sponsor, putting the name on the wall at Tsukuba.
04 — Total car part supply
From build bay to full catalog.
The build credibility turned into a storefront: a curated wall of the best Japanese tuning brands — Hypertune, HKS, Tomei, Mine’s, BorgWarner, Injector Dynamics, Exedy, Platinum Racing Products, RIZE Japan — and the rare, top-shelf hardware for the legends: R32, R33, R34, R35, Supra, RX-7, NSX, 911.
The promise was simple: no catalog filler. Carbon, billet, titanium — lightweight, agile, precise. Only the super-sick, top-shelf parts for people who truly share the passion.
